THE ROLE

We are looking for a LiveOps Designer Intern, based in Barcelona, to join our Design team for a 6-month internship, with a flexible schedule that fits around your classes.

Our design team is small and does a bit of everything: pre-producing new app features, building our design system, illustration, motion and communication for the rest of the company. Macadam is always live, with temporary events, seasonal campaigns, partner offers and new rewards, and the number of visuals we need has grown from a handful to dozens every month. That's where you come in.

You'll own our LiveOps art requests: the banners, illustrations and graphics that bring every event and campaign to life, in the app and beyond. You'll have a mentor in the team for your day-to-day questions and feedback, and our Lead Product Designer as your tutor.

You don't need to know how to do everything before joining. What we're looking for is someone with a real talent for drawing who is eager to learn: curious, not afraid to ask questions, and happy to iterate based on feedback.

AI is part of how every team works at Macadam. You'll have access to AI tools in your daily work and learn how to use them to create better and faster.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Create banners and visuals with impact for in-app events, partner offers and seasonal campaigns: if it's Halloween next week, you design the Halloween creatives.

• Illustrate characters, scenes and backgrounds that fit Macadam's visual identity: a character running or jumping, a beach for a summer event, a winter scene for Christmas.

• Design graphics for other teams and channels: email, LinkedIn, Facebook and more.

• Take your requests through Linear and work in agile sprints with the design team.

• Move between Illustrator, Photoshop and Figma to deliver final assets ready for the app.

• Use AI tools to speed up the creative process, and help us find new ways to use them.

This is not a UI/UX role: you won't be designing app screens, lists or layouts. It's about creative, illustrated visuals that make users want to take part.

WHO YOU ARE

• You're studying design, illustration, fine arts, video game art or a similar field, and your school can sign a 6-month internship agreement.

• You love drawing, and it shows: you create characters and scenes with personality, and you can adapt your style to an existing visual identity.

• You have an intermediate level in Figma, Illustrator and Photoshop.

• You have a portfolio with illustration and graphic design work.

• You're eager to learn, open to feedback and comfortable with a dynamic pace.

• You're comfortable working in English.

NICE TO HAVE

• Concept art or video game art projects.

• Motion design (After Effects, Rive or similar).

• Experience with generative AI image tools.

• Some experience with Linear or agile ways of working.
